UX PROMOTION

UX Design can be new territory for organizations. So part of my work has is showing how it adds value and how it works. I try to make this as engaging as possible, to spark interest and enthusiasm in creative ways.

When I started the UX Lab at gemeente Amsterdam, design and user experience were non-existent. So my job also involved UX evangelism, and I grabbed every change I got to do this.

To get the general management team (the CEO's) on board we brought the UX Lab to them, popping-up an ad-hoc usability test lab next tot their meeting room and inviting one of the GMT members to participate in a study. They loved it. 

30-minute lunch sessions

To spread the word about the UX Lab initiative with the larger organization, we held 30-minute lunch sessions. These sessions were a low-key show and tell and open to anyone in the organization.

When Centric - one of the backend system software providers that was used - wanted to tell a story about us and make a short video, we grabbed the chance of free promotion of our impactful work :)
